Plynthy Engineering is our latest portfolio member with its family of bench test instruments targeting prosumer grade and higher engineers needing diagnostic, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer functions in a single, flexible, and modular package optimized for microcontroller-based projects specifically for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and NVIDIA Jetson.

Plynthy Engineering’s first product is the MicroMETER, a flexible, modular prototyping assist that validates health and capacity of Raspberry Pi (models 3, 4, 5, Zero, and Pico), ATmega328P, Arduino (Uno, Nano, and Giga), and NVIDIA Jetson. A MicroMETER consists of a base unit married to a microcontroller-specific fixture called a plynth. Controlled through any Web browser, MicroMETER will perform diagnostics to confirm the health of each function of each pin of a microprocessor. This validation can be performed as a step in the quality control workflow for products already shipping, or for debugging prototypes for future products still in development.

Diagnostic programs can be selected from those supplied with MicroMETER, or user-supplied scripts, as MicroMETER is open source and fully documented in the User Guide. The default diagnostic script tests stuck-high and stuck-low conditions for each GPIO pin, PWM functionality, ADC accuracy with measurements of standard deviation, and WiFi and Bluetooth functionality for those devices equipped with wireless.

Animated “pin sweep” diagnostic loop

A short looping animation (SVG/Lottie or a 10-second muted video) of the browser UI walking a pin map: each GPIO pin lights green as it passes, one flashes amber on a stuck-low fault. Motion draws the eye mid-page exactly where scroll-through is highest, and it demonstrates the core product promise — per-pin health — in seconds.

In addition to the diagnostic and health-check functions, MicroMETER also provides leadless logic analyzer scanning up to 150 MHz for up to 26 digital I/O pins. In the analog domain, MicroMETER can display up to 4 inputs in oscilloscope fashion for frequencies up to 150 MHz. Refer to the MicroMETER User Guide for further performance details.
